Employers in North Macedonia are only obligated to pay one mandatory monthly fee: the Compensation for Past Work Service. This fee is based on the employee’s current monthly salary and total accumulated years of service, including time worked for previous employers. It is calculated as 0.5% of the employee’s base monthly salary multiplied by their total years of work experience. The exact amount is determined after onboarding, based on the employee's employment history.
